When it comes to making any impact on the world, such as forming new habits, taking up a hobby, starting a new business project, saving (or making) money, it turns out that nothing will happen unless you get started.
So, here I am and here you are (hopefully) and here is The Maid of Money newsletter.
I have been dabbling with Substack for a few years now. I have launched a few different newsletters on a range of interests that are important to me. And, some have been more successful than others — if subscribers are the main goal, which is another subject altogether.
Today I dusted off my old account and looked at what I had written previously, the many posts I had completed but had been too nervous to put out there (for various reasons) and had then put back in to ‘draft’.
The subjects I had felt passionate about but having discussed them with others that I perceived were writing allies but back-tracked when they casually laughed at the subject-matter and resigned those newsletters too.
However, one thing is different today. I am going for it – again.
The issue and challenges around making money, gaining financial independence, hitting six figure goals through entrepreneurship prowess, or making it to the c-suite, may encompass a range of soundbites but they are nothing new.
Once couched in the language (and challenges) of ‘having it all’ and a whole raft of issues that go alongside that expression, it just ain’t that easy – no matter your gender nor your responsibilities.
The Maid of Money aims to unpack how easy it is not to make money and to lose your way when seeking financial freedom. It is not about being negative but having different and more full and frank conversations about money, wealth, and careers.
So, don’t stop me now…I am just getting started.
